I have an Italian-manufactured 240 amp 240v MIG welder - Unimig Procraft 240.It has 2 plugs for the large brass plug-in connector on the bottom of the front panel. These plugs are marked with a symbol of a 'single spiral' and a 'double spiral'.The explanation, almost certainly translated from italian, says:DOUBLE INDUCTANCE: If you need a lowest inductance to use the machine for a bigger power, put the dinse connector in the [image of single spiral here] exit.Would someone kindly re-translate this for me to explain the pros/cons of half or full inductance..Thanks!
Reply:The more inductance, the flatter the bead, for a rough explanation for the most part. A like a little even with mild steel, and it really helps when welding stainless. Experiment and see what you like more for your particular welding style. |
