Alright need some better ideas on getting this stuff to stick together. It's seeing service of 125 psi and probably about 250 degrees. The stuff I tried was some stuff picked up at ACE made to braze aluminum to copper, however it doesn't really seem to stick well to either. I got the joints extremely clean and fluxed then fed in some wire and let it cool. It seems to have pinholes all over and letting air out everywhere so just looking for a better alternative. If I have to I may just order some 1/2" aluminum fuel line and TIG it together Attached Images

Reply:Go to a radiator shop and buy some of the solder and flux that they use all day to join aluminum and copper. That's what I did. The stuff I bought comes out of Ft. Worth, Tx and it flows nicely and makes strong joints. Can't remember the name of it right now. I did find that the flux worked better when the joint had already been heated up before applying the flux.Miller Syncrowave 350Millermatic 252/ 30A spoolgunMiller Bobcat 225g w/ 3545 spoolgunLincoln PowerArc4000Lincoln 175 Mig Lincoln 135 Mig Everlast 250EX TigCentury ac/dc 230 amp stickVictor O/AHypertherm 1000 plasma
Reply:was it the muggyweld stuff? I've read it works good but for $70 it aint worth it to me. 10 ft of aluminum line is $10 so I may just go that route. Thanks though for the heads up, I may see what I can find tomorrow at a rad shop |
