We are talking a bead on 304 or 321SS exhaust tubing.Take a GTAW bead on either type stainless, and finish it smooth with a 3M wheel say. Blend and polish it up so it cannot be seen. Wait, is that even possible, or is there already a color mismatch?Ok, will that bead become visible when the exhaust tubing is in use? The temperatures of the section of tubing I'm talking about makes 304SS turn straw and blue. And that oxidation is fine. I am wondering, will the 'hidden' bead and the base material oxidize to the same color? Or is there going to be a bikini line? And, is there a particular filler rod I should use to make the oxide color an invisible match? - Jim |
