Just wanted to update those who have been following my new job after welding school. I'm currently in the last phase of welding school at work and have passed the smaw mild steal and stainless steel testing. I've also passed fluxcore machine testing as well as carbon arcing and am now in the pipe / plate testing for tig. It's taken me longer than what I had anticipated but I had no idea that I would have forgotten as much as I did during the 5 months that I took off from welding after I finished school before coming to the ship yard. I've said it before and I will say it many more times, if your in welding school start applying the last month before you finish so you can transition over to a new welding job as quickly as possible otherwise you'll loose allot of what you have learned.
