My first project in half a decade

THis is my first welding project in a while  I havnt welded in about five years and I pretty much suck but here are some photos of my first project back at the welder.  Feel free to rip into me for sucking and point out what i did wrong there should be plenty.  I kind of just picked it up with out any training just some quick and dirty pointers from a friend who sold me the welder.whats the discolored area in that weld?I had previously made a stand out of 2x4s.  It was rickety because the old saw is heavy and the castors sunk into the soft wood. So I decided to make one out of metal.  I found an old bed in a dumpster (pretty hillbilly but free is free) that was made out of pretty thick angle iron.  I chopped it up and made a new tablesaw base.  It works great.  To buy one is around 80 bucks this was free. Reply:A really elegant solution Magnetic.  Leverage, locks, foldup handle.  It's got it all.  Baggot-  Looks like it's gonna be OK, just put some scrap wood behind the wheels to block them.  You'll find out how sensitive it is to movement.  I've seen some guys put leveling bolts on brackets that slightly raise the machine.  Tap bolts work great for this."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:both the steering wheels lock.  THe other side has fixed position wheels.  Two locks are plenty for my needs.  (I keep a sharp blade so i dont have to push too hard haha) it works ive ripped a lot of panels on it with the old stand and it never moved an inch.  Thanks for the replys.
Reply:Thats great, I try to keep a sharp blade too, but sometimes those nails are awfully hard. I went the other way because I can't bend over to lock the wheels.A butterfly without wings, is just an ugly bug

Reply:To answer your question....the discoloration in the weld is the coating on the wire,if you are using hard wire. (short-arc)
