I HAVE A DILEMA.I STILL CAN'T FIGURE THIS OUT OTHER THAN PAYING AND SHIPPING.I HAVE A FELLOW ON HERE THAT WANTS MY TB 302.WELL HE WANTS TO PAY ME HALF AND THEN PAY THE BALANCE WHEN HE GETS IT IN HIS HANDS.I UNDERSTAND HE DON'T KNOW ME...AND I DON'T KNOW HIM.WHAT WOULD YOU ALL DO?HE WANTS THE MACHINE BAD ..AND I WANT THE MONEY FOR THE MACHINE.ANY SUGGESTIONSTHANKS

Reply:Yup... Definately take payment in full or walk away. Thats the only way to gaurentee you'll get paid. Not saying this guy isn't honest, but you don't pay half of a slice of pizza and then pay the other half after you eat it do you? Or buy a new car and pay the rest of it when you get home? I'd say money up front or no go.
Reply:My .02 is if ya cant meet in the middle Id walk away from the deal too. Unless you have a friend, most of us on forums have made friend with people and cant trust from all over, that could help in the deal. I do that with tractors, I have one sitting here waiting on a ride to Iowa that I went and got for a guy out there.
Reply:Post the machine on Ebay with a "Buy Now" option and have him pay through PayPal.  It is pretty easy to set up and you can put buyer protection on it so if there is an issue, it can be worked out.Otherwise walk away.Steve in Central TX
Reply:I see both of your points. This IS a tough one. Maybe, depending on the person, you can do a search of their posts and help in your decision. You can sometimes tell when a person here is the real deal or just an idiot. I have made a few, what I consider, friends on this board and would not hesitate to trust them. Reply:You can do payments through paypal, As long as its not sent as a gift he has some path of recourse and you have the money. You will need to pay the fees though with paypal

Both parties have protection, and I dont have to answer phone calls or countless useless emails selling locally. He could pay through PayPal, I think theres a option on the website for a sale such as this. Reply:Don't use eBay!  eBay is for finding buyers, and you already have one.  You'll just be giving them a cut for no reason.  If you want to send someone 3% of the cost of a 302 for no reason, send it to me!    PayPal, on the other hand, you might want to use.  They offer some protection to both parties, in much the same way that an escrow third-party would.  Both of you need to read PayPal's policies, and decide if that protection is sufficient.  If so, it's easy.  If not, look into a real escrow service, but that will cost more.__David Hillman
