Reply:I just welded bolts to washers and then welded washers inside the square tubing. But McMaster-Carr sells them.Jack OlsenMy garage website
Reply:Here is a picture of an adjustable foot from another WW member.  I do not have the name of the member or the post that it was from in order to give him/her credit.  Sorry.  Hope it is OK to post the pic. Attached Images
Reply:You probably already thought of this but-how about the homemade type?Weld a nut to the bottom of the leg, ordrill and tap a plate and weld it to theleg.Screw a bolt in for the foot.Miller a/c-d/c Thunderbolt XLMillermatic 180 Purox O/ASmith Littletorch O/AHobart Champion Elite
Reply:King Supply has them but the pad is plastic and they drive in square tubing.
Reply:In degrees of flatness there are carriage bolts (round heads), then step bolts (larger & less rounded) and then elevator bolts which are large flat heads. You'll have a heck of a time finding elevator bolts above 3/8ths inch tho. Not that they don't exist it's that they aren't a common hardware store item. Anyway all three of those leave you with a nice square shoulder you can put a wrench on for leveling."The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt

Reply:Might have a look at Mc Master or 8020 alumimum sales stores.  They offer a ton of that stuff and I have a set for my 4x4 torchmate to level it in my shop due to poor concrete surface texture.  I think I got mine from 8020 when I got my machine a few years ago.  Hope this helps.BobI'm spending my Kids inheritance, I dont like him that much anyway!!!!!!Enuff tools to do the job, enough sense to use em.Anybody got a spare set of kidneys?  Trade?

Reply:I have also heard of people reusing the adjustable feet that come on washers and dryers and have been keeping my eyes open for some in the alley. But really, with all the projects with square tubing how come they don't sell stuff like that at the steel supply places, they sell silly decorative stuff but I haven't seen anything in the way of adjustable feet.I'd like to see something that has a tight interference fit with the tubing and a decent length to eliminate any misalignment.  I used the welded nut method for one of my tables and while it turned out fine I was disappointed with them being off by a couple degrees despite some effort to get them in straight. If I were doing a lot I imagine a fixture could be built to hold the nut in alignment with the tubing but hammering something in there with a few tacks would be nice and probably look pretty good too.Somewhere else is posted some very fancy weld on adjustable legs but they are very pricey.
Reply:Hey cmcdanl,These are leveler inserts we used at my employer. They are for 1.5" round & 1.5" sq tubing & would fit up to a .125 wall thickness.  They are threaded to take 3/8" thd leveler screws we used. We also modified the base of the leveler screw by welding on a 3" washer to have more bearing surface. Worked quite nicely.Denny Attached ImagesComplete Welding/Machine/Fab. Reply:It takes a bit more time, but has nice results.  I bought a short piece of 1/2" thick bar stock, 1-1/2 wide.  Cut 1-1/2 squares with a hack saw, drill and tap on the drill press.  Stick weld on, bench grinder / file clean.  Works very well.  I did this first, before assembling the legs to the rest of the project.  Otherwise its really hard to clean the joint up at the bench grinder.  I like the look.  I can get this tapped in any thread pitch (1/2 - 13tpi), or what ever I want.--zip
Reply:Has anyone ever sheared the threads on the feet from pounding on the table?I worry about that and wonder if I can find something heavier, like 1.25" thread for the feet.Screw jacks maybe?Regards,RobGreat Basin WeldingInstagramBlue weldersRed weldersMy luscious Table DIY TIG Torch cooler

Reply:Robert,When I build food concession counters that need a wide range of adjustment I use 3/4 threaded stainless rod with a nut welded on the end and another welded on the end of the leg similar to the others shown. Then I add a jam nut at the base of the leg to lock the rod in place. That provides almost an inch of thread that is being used on that stainless rod. If this is a table that will hold things that you are building by hand or even using a small fork lift to place items on it I don't think it would be a problem. I think that would hold a whole lot of weight and take quite a pounding before shearing off. I bet I could put my truck on it.Ken
Reply:To update you guys... i got side tracked a little. mostly because my dad managed to turn my table into a shelf. So I haven't even been able to use my table, let alone add some adjustable feet to it. But I think when I get my own house in the next couple months then I will go with the bolt method. Easy, and it's not like anyone will be inspecting the feet of my table to see how nice they look! Thanks everyone for the suggestions! By the way I did manage to start a new project. A 1978 cb400a Hondamatic. Turned into a bobber. Here is a picture of where it stands now in case you were curious. Just finished the exhaust on tuesday.
