Just finished a rather large Louvered Slider,Forgot to take photos of it during construction and there are not many welds. It is our Company ideal to have no visible welds. Yes a good weld is a thing of beauty , especially to those who understand welding , but, a product with no visible welds IMHO looks better. The pedestrian gate has no welds visible , and inspite of the louvers the slider only has 5 welds visible. All welds are AC Tig , no pulse , 100% Argon , on a 320 Transtig CIG welder pedal about 3/4 down, 2.4mm 2% Zirconated electrode, 5356 2.4mm filler.Client very happy and was a good earner for us. Reply:Great looking job there, Brett. Looks like a nice setting too. Very... Noosa-like...I know what you mean about visible welds, a thing of beauty to people who weld but maybe a distraction to others. And, out of left field, what do they keep in all the peg baskets hung on the clothesline? I know people who can't mix peg colours when pegging clothes out, do these people suffer from that?"One of the things we have to be thankful for is that we don't get as much government as we pay for." Reply:Got the specs out, and took a gander at the tubing(now that I know the louvers were mechanically attached). You're right. I don't see the usual bubblegum I get when welding tubingWhat ya bet, those folks eat T-bone every night?"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/ |
