Hi guys,I am going to do some research on welding. However, my experiment will be done in a dark room which requires no light. As I know, welding process will occur intense light. So I am wondering is there any welding method which will not produce intense light during the welding. Thanks, .Liang

Reply:Sub arc welding is ( I believe ) done by feeding a wire filler in through a powdered flux. The flux contains the arc so you don't need a hood. You also can't see what is going on. Done correctly. Leaves a great weldG
Reply:Plastic welding? Ice cube welding? JB Weld, welding?I think sub arc would be the only real one. For steel that is."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! Reply:Ultra sonic friction welding, and sub arc welding are the only true weld processes that I know of that don't produce intense light. I've never seen the ultra sonic process used on anything larger than micro electronic circuits though.CharleyMiller MM252Miller Bobcat 225NTMiller DialArc HF / DIY Cooler2 Victor O/A TorchsetsMilwaukee 8" Metal SawMilwaukee Dry Cut "Chop" Saw 5 Ton Wallace Gantry Various Grinders, Benders, etc.
