dirt bikes behind the fifth wheel

The boys wanted to take their dirt bikes camping , but we have a 5th wheel so this is what we came up with. Reply:Each bike has a vertical square tube with a pad that the bike leans against,each tube is independent of the other so the bikes can be rolled onto the platform seperately. The bolt is set up to pull the bike down compressing the suspension about 1./3 and angled to pull it into the vertical tube. In transit they are rock solid and need no other tie down other than the peg and bolt. The first trip was well over 300 miles with no problems.You load the bike closest to the back of the camper first and lock in, then I slide the second mount under the first bike into its own trailer reciever and mount the second bike. Reply:On the tongue weight, Under the unit at the very rear is the water holding tanks, fresh and gray, a total of 65 gallons or 525 lbs. so I feel the bikes at about 500 with rack is a trade off. Reply:Originally Posted by duaneb55Take the truck to your local truckstop equipped with a set of scales and weigh it for front and rear axle weights.  Then load up the bikes on the trailer and do it again adding the trailer axles this time and you'll know exactly where you stand.  You can then 'shift' any weight as needed by how you load your belongings and equipment in the trailer pretty much the same as an 18-wheeler without a sliding 5th or sliding trailer suspension.

Reply:cool, great idea... My father has just about the same trailer as you and we have been trying to think up a design for hauling a golf cart. Do you have another pics of how the hitch is mounted to the frame?
