Montgomery Ward ac/dc stick Decent? Not?

Hello all,This weekend I happened upon a Used Montgomery ward AC/DC stick unit for a cheap price.  I tested it out and seemed decent.  Not having been up on stick welders, Is anyone familiar with this unit?  Decent?  Not decent?  The last Stick welder I had was a Miller Thunderbolt.AutoArc 120 MIGMontgomery Ward AC/DC 230r.i.p. - Miller Thunderbolt 05 Jeep Liberty Renegade
Reply:No personal experience with this one, but would guess the technology is simple and reliable.  It's a bonus to find an AC/DC since it seems most inexpensive welders around are AC only.  I see used Lincoln 225 AC units very frequently going for around $150.  I had one of these that worked great.  Don't know why the Montgomery Ward would be much different.
Reply:Thanks for the reply. It seems like a decent unit.  I still have my 35' leads from my Miller.  I just have to get new machine ends for the cables.  The ones that came with the M-W are so short they could not even act as a height gauge for a midget.  I picked the welder up for $75.  there was also a Lincoln ac225 for $75.  Another guy and his son had dibs on that machine.  I gave him the web addy for this site.AutoArc 120 MIGMontgomery Ward AC/DC 230r.i.p. - Miller Thunderbolt 05 Jeep Liberty Renegade
Reply:You got a good deal.  AC machines usually can be found for less than 100 dollars, Ac/dc usually more.   What happened to your miller thunderbolt?
Reply:Fell off the back of my truck.  Seems someone liked the strap that was securing it during a move.  I did not realize the strap had been removed.
