alumnized steel

I was looking at car/truck exhausts online and i kept comming across the term "aluminized steel".  what is it? is it like galvy? does it weld like steel or aluminum? how does one prep it for welding?just curious.thanks

Reply:good to know... do you use an ers70 wire? or a flux core? what about tig?

Reply:MIG and flux core good, tig- ugly. I flapwheel al off and use solvent wipe to get nice tig welds.PeterEquipment:2  old paws2  eyes (that don't look so good)1  bad back
