Is this even possible? Well I know it is, but usually about an inch or so into the bead, the puddle does the exit stage down move and I end up with quite a depression in the joint. Should I be going at it from bottom up?
Reply:I do it vertical down. You know you're getting full penetration because you can't really move until your pool is molten.Make sure you have the tip angled up at like 15* from perpendicular.
Reply:It certainly is possibe, I found it easier that flat. Go for the bottom up and the metal is pre-headed for you as the heat rises
Reply:O/A welds the same in all positions, it's really easy. |
