I am looking for a new tig machine( Lincoln ) and I need some input regarding these two machines if anyone owns or has used them. I am very new to this process and other higher priced machines have way too many features for myself, very confusing, but do I need these features? ( Invertec V205-T, Precision Tig 275 ) I will be welding mostly aluminum under 1/4 , water cooled torch? any help would be grateful. Oh, this is only a hobby, mostly to fix my bike when I crash at the race track.Last edited by mstills; 11-20-2006 at 11:48 PM.

Reply:I am very happy with my Percision TIG 185. It was a good price as it had been a demo until the 225s came out.
Reply:I'm a relative novice at TIG as well, but I've owned the Precision TIG 185 for about a year now. It has all the features you need to do a good job on aluminum: AC, high frequency, balance adjustment, and the built in pulser is nice. For me, it has all the features I need, and is easy to use. I use it mostly for steel tubing, but have done some aluminum as well. It's also a great stick welder. Anyway, I'm really enjoying the welder. I don't think you would be disappointed with this machine. Good luck in your search! |
