I thinking that the lincon power mig 180 would be a good choice for meBut it comes in a 180c and a 180T, what is the diffrence between the T and C models. I have read that is has soming to so with voltage control...could some one explane to a newbie please what this means Thanks.
Reply:T stands for tapped voltage output. You will have five settings.C stands for continuous voltage control or infinite settings. The five tap is probably easier for rookies but the C modelhas a wide sweet (range) where the machine welds withlow spatter. You can get it tuned in a bit better with theC model. I only used the 140C but I could tell it goingto be good in how easy it is to get welding right.Either way works.
Reply:Jeep....I just bought a 180C a couple of weeks ago, and I've been very happy with the machine so far You will have to decide if the added cost of the continous voltage adjustement is justified based on the type of work you plan to do. If you are planning on working with thinner gage metals, I think you will find it worthwhile.
Reply:i think befor you buy the lincoln you might want to check out the new hobar 187 i'm making a cover for a guy that just got one and loves it. also miller is putting out a new 180 i have herd realy good things about it as well. the new miller will let you chose between the WST on or off, thats been quite a subject for debate for a wile and now miller is letting the owner chose if he wants it on or off.you should realy try all 3 befor buying any of them. im not saying the lincoln is bad just that you should give them all a try and then decide. they will likly all serve you well no mater witch one you get so see witch one feels good to ya. my guess would be the hobart will have the lowest price of the 3 if thats an isue. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time. |
