I'm selling the old style foot pedal that came with my Synchro250. I have the brand new lighter weight one (rfcs14). The spring broke at the straight end part where it meets the coiled part. Let me make this clear at the beginning, the buyer knows the spring is broken and that he probably will need to buy a replacement, but I figured if I could repair it for him, what the hell. Can I tig the spring back together, then heat it to cherry red and quench it in oil to temper it?

Reply:Yes, it may be repairable, but the cost of the repair, in time and labor, will be far greater than that of a new spring.I offer three choices: Good, Fast, & Cheap.
