stitch welding pipe

I recently viewed A picture of a pipe that was "stitch welded". Could someone please explain the technique ?
Reply:sometimes you run 1 root pass...sometimes 2..sometimes 3..Then you start on the bottom of the root..add a dip..go to the top...add a dip... move forward a little bit and repeat..without stopping... continue untill finished..its hard to describe... be better if i showed ya... ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
