hello all, im just inquiring on how the apprentice program works in the welding field? Im actully an optician apprentice currently in the optical field but im now realizing I DONT WANT TO DEAL w/peoples problems, I want to weld them! lol, any ?s would be appreciated all!

Reply:I suggest you contact your local union halls. Ironworkers, Boilermakers, & Pipe Fitters come to mind.  Ask your navy recruiter about becoming a Sea Bee Steelworker.  Your state department of labor might be able to steer you to an indentured apprenticeship program.My experience is with a local IBEW Apprenticeship Program.  25 years ago when I was active, basic welding instruction was available at the local union training center.Last edited by nadogail; 07-24-2011 at 02:29 PM.I offer three choices: Good, Fast, & Cheap.
