I was using my lincoln 255 mig welder today and it just shut off like the power was cut. I have had this welder for years and dont use it too often but i have had it in 2 different garages and hooked it up the same way at each house. anyway i check my outlet and the volts are at about 155 and climbing, and goes right up to 240, so i plug my welder in and it works, so i go to do a tack and it shuts off, so i check the plug and the volts are down again and start to climb but didnt get back up to where it should be at that testing point. i have the wire buried and it it underground cable, any reason why the volts would be droping like that? thank for any info

Reply:Yep, tighten all the lugs on the breakers and ground/neutral connections, as well as the wire nuts in the box. |
