Which is better for Welding AC or DC?
Reply:Both.
Reply:In general, DC, unless TIG welding aluminum, then AC is the norm. In cases where arc blow is an issue AC can be a solution.
Reply:Depends on the task at hand, both have thier place.LarryMiller XMT 304 CC/CVSyncrowave 180 SDLincoln PowerMig 255XTTermalDynamics 52Lincoln 305GComlpete machine shop to back it up
Reply:I ask that same question about 35 years ago and what I was told then (by some old grippe welders) was AC penetrates deeper than DC does, but DC makes a smoother weld overall. But that was about stick welding. lol Good luck man
Reply:AC or DC?, in my opinion; It All Depends on what is to be welded and what equipment and electrodes are available.I offer three choices: Good, Fast, & Cheap. You may pick two.Hobart AC/DC StikMate LXHarbor Freight AD HoodHarbor Freight Industrial Chop SawDeVilbis 20 Gallon, 5 HP Compressor
