I have been asked to put together a quote for 10 stainless steel guard rails, there will be a support post of stainless in to the ground, would it be better to use a slip tee or fish mouth and weld.  I am not sure of the tube thickness yet might be 16 gauge what do some of you think would be the best way to go?  there will be a total of 60 feet of tubing and 3 mounting flanges per rail.ThanksRon
Reply:Hard to say without seeing a drawing of what you're planing to do, but I would say that if at all possible avoid fish mouths, you'll end up with tons of distorsion. Perhaps another option that you didn't mention is to drill right through the uprights and feed the cross pieces through, just tacking or fusing them in place, it'll save alot of work, but again, depends on what you're doing.
