Not really a welding project

Well, I've not posted here in a while, so I guess I need to catch up.  My welding class has been going okay; passed my 1G test the other night.  It is a very basic class, so that is the only test I have to pass, but I'm doing the 2G, 3G, 4G tests anyway.  They are not looking too good, but I just started playing with them.Anyway, I'm still doing the little candle holders for side money.  Did this one the other day.  The buyer wanted something abstract and rough looking, so I took the BFH and torch to a piece of 3/16 plate, then formed the legs over a bit of 2 3/8 pipe. Then a little hydrogen peroxide to rust it up and then a little clear coat.  I guess there is a tiny bit of welding, since I stuck the nail on there to hold the candle.Here is one of my early candle holders.  This one I ended up wire brushing back to shiny, blueing with the torch and finishing with clear coat.Here is one of my O/A weldsI really enjoy O/A welding, even more than SMAW, but I've not had time lately.  I do it for the candle holders, since there is no spatter to clean up.Tomorrow I'm going to the scrap yard to start hunting metal for my welding table, so maybe I'll have some "real" projects to post soon.
