I made this press a couple weeks ago,i did'nt get any pic's during the build. The left spring is on order (they only had 1).The frame is 3x3x1/4inch with extra 3/8 inch flat bar at top for more strength. The jack is air/hydraulic ,I have'nt used it much yet but it will easily crush 1/4 x 2inch angle iron. Reply:Gee I should be over here more. Nice stuff to see. Nice job on the press Bensweld. It looks beefy . Very handy to have around the shop. I built one a few years back. I made the frame and picked up an Enerpac electric over hydraulic system to attach to it. works wonderful. The other day I was needing a brake to do a job so I made two of them to fit the press. It's simular to the one magnetic mechanic built.I'm very happy with the outcome. Congrats on a nice job!The brakes come in handy for this sort of thing Miller 302 Trailblazer/Custom TrailerMillermatic 350P/Spool gunMillermatic 252Miller Spectrum 875Miller Dynasty200DxHypertherm Powermax 85Tracker CNC 4X8 Pro Table (Down Draft)Visit us @ www.specialtyrepairscustommods.com
Reply:Now that is slick shorts! Correct me if I am wrong but your larger one looks to use angle for the top die and the smaller looks to be plate that has been ground down? Is that correct?

Reply:Now I know 4 shorts I have to go back and make a new set of bending jigs for mine, thanks for showing yours, gives me more to think about when I remake mine.As my first one I made is quite crude in comparison! Reply:Here's a pic of my press, its a 55 ton, way overkill on my part, I have yet to go over 20 ton.I am interested in that electric over hydraulic system you used, any online info that you could point me to would be much appreciated! Thanks!Ken. Reply:Hello Guys, Really nice jobs, congratulations to all, I'v had a press for quite a while now and always intended to make some bending/folding gear for it,seeing yours might give me the kick in the pants I need to get motivated,P.S hav'nt seen you post for a while Paul how did the Kabota and snowplough perform? Best regards Gordon.
Reply:Gee I hope Bensweld don't get to mad with with me for jumping in on his thread. I just intended to show him the brakes I made. Ken that's a nice looking press as well. Going to take something to kill that one for sure. Some times the crude looking tools are the best ones you know. I picked up my enerpac system at auction and here's the link to there site. Take a deep breath before you ask for a price quote. They are very expensive. Mine came with a remote and ten feet of wire for the remote, it also came with the motor/pump assembly and the ram. I picked it all up for $800. and was prepared to go as high as $2000. so I was happy.http://enerpac.com/en/products/pumps/electric-0Gordon my friend it's always a pleasure to see you posting and to know your still around here. I haven't been around here much due to the work load in my shop. The new tractor worked very well, thanks for asking. It's surpassed my expectations actually. I put a little over 80 hours in the seat snow clearing and the plow I adapted to it worked flawlessly. Of course I had to add a few little custom touches to it like a reverse camera with a 7 inch LCD monitor and the thing even has inferred. I added a few gauges to it as well and even added some side Super Nova LED strobes to the plow so I would have more side visibility for others to see me in a storm. Here's a few pics to bore you with Gordon. Great hearing from you my friend. Stay well. Reply:Very nice stuff!! Why do you mill the flat spot on the side of the solid round? Looks like you turn down the ends to fit in the base, but having trouble following how the flat spot is used?
