A nice Lady I know has trained one of my horses and also gives riding lessons to kids, asked if I could do some thing with this cart she had, that some one had given to her. She's gotten a couple of those rescue draft horses from Canada and wants to start training them to pull Carts/waggons. I told her to drop it off at my place and I would see what I could doThis is what I found dropped off:Looks like at some point in time some one had made a cart out of an old tractor, John Deere I take, lucky the wheel bearings were good and nothing frozen. Got out the grinder and got to work:Starting to put the new frame on:a weld. This was a FCAW job. Lincoln NR 211-mp. Most of the framing is 14 gage 2x2 square tube. Welder was a Lincoln 3200HD setting mainly "c" volts and "3" on wire speed:Vertical down:Still not done but getting there. Other than the hitch at the front axle, most of the metal work is done:The bad side need to get new wheels
Reply:That's some mighty fine wax you did your polishing with. She won't believe it's the same cart.If you don't want to stand behind our Troops, feel free to stand in front of them.
Reply:now all you need is a set of cragar ss's or some keystone cassics......fattys in the back and a set of skinnys in the front....wooooooo hoooooo nice job on the trailer looks nice.If it's too . get an office jobLincoln wp225g7 Lincoln 250 idealarcFrankenstein O/A set-up Weld-tech  tig set-upLincoln sp 175 plus profax  arc gouger
Reply:^^-- Nah, then he'd be too tempted to put in a steering column, a rear differential, and motor mounts for a 350 ..... make that sucker a REAL "horseless carriage" ...  (Hey, why not?  That's how they built the "Boot Hill Express" show car out of an 1880's horse-drawn hearse ...)
Reply:Hey do I see brake drums on there? If she's planning to do some training with that wagon some rear brakes might come in handy.HH 187Miller Bluestar1EAHP AlphaTig 200X
Reply:WOW! Talk about makin' a silk purse out of a sows ear....Where's the Beer barrels?Nice transformation...She's going to be happy I'm sure.

Reply:Wow !! Looks you turned an ole hay wagon in a Budwizer wagon.I kind of like SpyGuy's Tim Allen of Tooltime frame idea. Make it into a racing "horseless carriage" with some nice ole organ pipes playing music when you hit the peddle. Reply:And y'all thought I was kidding .... :The front end is from a VW Bus modified for upright steering, and I believe that's a big 454 "laid to rest" in the rear, with organ pipe intakes.  The carriage itself is an 1880's horse-drawn hearse.  I used to have the model of this thing ....This is where I got the picture from.  The building the BHE is housed in contains other famous vehicles created by the late great Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, including The Mysterion, The Wagon Meister, The Druid Princess, and The Outlaw.http://mightyquick.50megs.com/showpage5.html Attached Images
