Hello everyone,I am having an issue with this regulator. I bought it with my syncrowave 180sd. Maybe I am missing something really simple...not sure...im used to the regular flow meters but at any rate. I hook everything up and when I turn the bottle of argon on. aron leaks from these two little ports on the front of the regulator. When I try and turn the pressure up obviously it puts more pressure coming out. Im not sure if there is a piece missing or im just missing something. Any help will be appreciated.....I want to start TIG'n TODAY!!! Here is a picture of what the regulator looks like. You can see the little port im talking about by the pressure valve.

Reply:That is a weep hole. The regulator is screwed up. Get another one or get it fixed. You are screwed until you can get a regulator that works correctly, or use it as is.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Thanks for the response....well I took the regulator apart and found a hole in the rubber fitting inside....so I used the rubber from my wifes turkey baster and used the rubber it came with as a template and cut another piece of rubber...put it on and it works like a charm!!! I just hate buying broken stuff.....something so simple caused so much frustration!! |
