The wire has burnt off inside the gun and I can't grab it at the tip. Have tried to pull from the wheel direction but wire won't move. How can I get the wire out?
Reply:First thing is to remove the tip. You may have to wind the tip off the end with pliers ... It will twist the wire as it screws off. At that point with the drive wheels RELEASED pull on the contact tip. The wire and contact tip will pull out or the wire will beak and the tip will come away. If the tip comes off with a broken bit of wire you then must pull the wire from the other end. Cut the wire at the feed rolls without releasing tension and secure the roll end of the wire on the roll. Remove the complete gun and cable. Clamp the wire tail in a bench vise and then pull the gun lead assembly off the wire. Once the gun lead is clear of wire start again and run the end of the roll through the rollers and gun lead until it comes out of the gun. Install a new contact tip.
