If a prospective apprentice applies for a job with a service truck, is he more marketable?I only ask because I plan on doing an apprenticeship job next summer. At the moment, I can afford to get a used service truck, I can even manage to some decent equipment on it. Would that help while looking for an apprenticeship?
Reply:No, save your money until you are trained/qualified. Then if you still want to buy a truck and go on your own, you'll know what to expect."The reason we are here is that we are not all there"SA 200Idealarc TM 300 300MM 200MM 25130a SpoolgunPrecision Tig 375Invertec V350 ProSC-32 CS 12 Wire FeederOxweld/Purox O/AArcAirHypertherm Powermax 85LN25
Reply:if you have a pick -up it may be helpful for some jobs but id use the company truck because of insurance reasons same as far as equipment to any job making you supply truck and equip aint werth it like norite said wait and save for when your more qualified
Reply:I guess that makes sense. Im still going to get a truck for now, but I will just get a regular truck, just something simple.
Reply:I knew a young man once who slowly started gathering tools, getting to know the company men,etc...Then bought a pipe trailer and work truck and started his own roustabout company.Sure impressed me...this is a little bit different field though |
