I am a beginner and it has been over three years since taking a welding class (with not much chance for welding since then) but I finally took the time to make a stand for my Mig and Plasma Cutter. No welds to show but suffice it to say, some were good and others got ground out and redone. Still a couple of minor things to finish (air line to Plasma and Tank strap rather than a bunge cord). All in all, it was a fun thing to do, practical to use, and gave me an excuse to try out a cad program. Not fancy but perhaps others may see some idea that would be of use. Thanks to all for the tremendous number of ideas that others have contributed on this forum. Attached Images
Reply:I don't see anything wrong with that at all. Good job. If you get a bigger tank you might have to move the MIG forward.
Reply:great job

Reply:Nice! Well planned, good design. But what do you mean by saying you don't have any welds to show off? How did you stick all those pieces of metal together? Elmer's Glue-all? J-B Weld Epoxy? Magnets? Reply:Wow, looks great, good job.Working on cars and bikes is my hobby, learning to weld the pieces together is my quest.
Reply:TMAC, I too made myself a cart after looking a quite a few here. The one thing I did not add and think I want to is, that piece of pipe on the right side to hold the handle when not in use. Now, after a time, how has that worked? Also, presume that is your RV in the photo? You build it?Stew
Reply:looks like the same settup i have. looks good. should work well for youIf you like my stuff you can find me on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/theangryanv...ngryanvilforge
Reply:Cranest, it works OK though I don't expect to use nearly as much as the one on the welding table. It provides a good alternative when I am next to the cart since the cables are only 10' long. Yes, I built the RV. It is RV9A that I finished in started on in 2001 and finished in 2004. It is a great airplane and has covered a lot of flying ground.
