New To WeldingIm Using A Millermatic 210Im Welding 1-1/2" Square Tubing To ItselfTo Make A Stand For My Neighbors GrillThe Chart In The Owners Manual Says I Could Use .023 Or .030With Different SettingsIs There An Advantage With One Over The OtherThanks To All Who Reply
Reply:Its more what you are going to use most of the time. .023 is kind of small for a 210 amp welder. I would go with .030 or even .035. What else do you plan to weld?DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I Have Both Size Wires .023 And .030But My Question Is Is One Going To Be A Stronger Weld Than The OtherBecause The Welds Look Just The Same Side By SideThanks Again
Reply:First question. What is the wall thickness of the tube you are welding at the moment..30 will work for probably everything you weld, assuming your a hobby welder.Patriot Performance AutoLincoln Power Mig 255CLincoln AC-225 StickVictor Journeyman O/AQuincy QT-5 Compressor
Reply:The Wall Thickness Is 1/8"But I Just Put The .023 In The GunAnd Was Wondering If Its Ok To UseIf There Is An Advantage With On Over The Other
Reply:Well for myself I rarely do sheet metal so I'd use .030 because it's already in my machine. I don't mess with .023 in unless it's 16 ga or thinner. But that's me.

Reply:.030" always seemed to be a fair amount more resistant to birdnesting than .023" IMO
