Hello all, time for post number 2!I just finished building my first "real" project.  It's a table made from 16ga mild steel square tube that i'm going to be using for my welding surface so i can quit welding stuff of the garage floor I would like to run a length of extension cord through the inside of one of the upright legs so i can plug thing in directly at the table (cut off saw, grinder, light, etc) but am concerned since the welder (110v harbor freight fluxcore) is on the same circuit. Is there any chance that the electricity will see the ground in the electrical line as a "more appealing" target and jump straight back into the circuit if i run it inside the square tube? This may sound stupid, but i'd rather look dumb than arc into the electrical line and mess something up.  Thanks for your knowledge and advice.
Reply:I can't see why that would happen unless you hard wire your ground to the table.  Even then I can't see it, but then again I'm no expert though -maybe I don't understand the question.  I was just hoping to see a picture of the tableLincoln 225 ac/dcJet 7x12 horizontal bandsaw
Reply:it's definitely VERY basic.  When i said, "just finished" i left out the "Doesn't even have the top on yet" part.I'll will be clamping the ground for the welder directly to the table, but i've been assured that's normal practice... that is normal practice right?
Reply:Just consider the placement of the cord if you go doing any heavy heating of parts on the table. Don't want to melt your cord!
Reply:I don't think there will be an electrical problems, but there might be heat issues, melting the extension cord
