Reply:Funny Video watching some Dude hammer away at a POS welder but the message about BUYING AMERICAN is kind of funny too.....How many American Branded products are there 4 SALE today that are ENTIRELY made in China or have COMPONENTS inside made from other countries ?  Would they be classified as American ?  Nope, not as far as a NAFTA certificate is concerned.  Importing a product from the USA into Canada or Mexico is difficult enough, but getting a 'built entirely' in America 'Stamp of Approval' (NAFTA Certificate) is about as likely as picking up 5 star Beach Front property in Lebanon... That's why NAFTA is a Joke in the first place and make no mistake, it works just as poorly BOTH WAYS... we too are guilty of the very 'same thing'.When we walk into a Wal-Mart, Target, Safeway, Harbor Freight, Princess Auto, or HOME DEPOT, are we coming out with American Made Goods ?  Nope, at least not very many.  Why buy that $25.00 STANLEY wood Chisel when you can buy the one hanging next to it (the cheap import) for $8.00 BUCKS !!Some may say such is the long term cost of 'Cheap' imported goods... and they are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!  It's a matter of buying CRAP because the majority of of North Americans live BEYOND their means and 'Cheap inexpensive Imports' (not just from China) is what we'd rather not have but subsequently it's all that WE can afford and what we ARE ALL used to buying.Lest we forget, the Chinese also make AMAZINGLY complex products that are top notch and work like they are supposed to....  Although they DO export these types of products, they export far FEWER than the CHEAPER versions of the same....  The DECENT products are just more expensive to make and why export many of 'these products' when it can be made in North America for roughly the same amount of money....  It's not about Market share for a single product, or line of products, It's all about MARGINS.  Besides, they already have what we know as "GLOBAL MARKET SHARE" on most everything CHEAP and most likely to fail..  Why compete AGAINST your own products, eh ?Back to the Video....Like I said it's a pretty funny video but it would have had a MUCH BIGGER impact and more meaning had the guy SMACKED HIMSELF directly in the middle of the FOREHEAD FIRST....  Then, once he woke up, he could continue his tirade by busting out the window of the place that SOLD HIM THE POS WELDER to begin with !!!!!!   Why would I say such a thing ?First of all, the 'Forehead smack' should occur because anyone who buys a CHEAP (not the same as inexpensive..) welder HAS GOT to KNOW that it likely isn't going to last, if accomplish the job at all....  Having said that, there are people who are starting out with Welding and such (like WE ALL did..) that likely don't have a clue as to what makes a welder a GOOD WELDER....  So, I'm going to give him / them the benefit of the doubt.However, the forehead smacking is still warranted....Let's be clear here....  the only reason the guy is taking out his frustrations out on the welder at all, is because the POS does NOT WORK and the VENDOR he bought it from DOES NOT have any sort of 'decent return policy' for the POS product that THEY SOLD to him !!  What is the purpose of blaming the CHEAP CHINESE WELDER when it is your LOCAL HARBOR FREIGHT or 'Big Box Store' that SOLD it to YOU !   It just doesn't make any sense to blame the 'inanimate BOX'... and for ME that's the REALLY funny part, HA, HA !   Buy from a place that's going to ALLOW you to RETURN it, if it SUCKS !  If you can't find such a supplier then DON'T BUY the product,...
