I gotta weld 500 plus ft of 6" kick plate. Should I use stick or a wire suitcase? Cheaper? Faster?
Reply:I'd wire weld it, it would be faster
Reply:Which math you want to know??
Reply:Ya i know maths.....Do u want any help??????
Reply:Wire is cheaper to buy than rod, wire has a higher deposition rate than stick and it would also be faster. No brainer.Last edited by goinssr; 09-19-2011 at 08:42 AM.StephenMillermatic 251Miller Syncrowave 200Miller 30A SpoolgunHypertherm Powermax 30Etc., etc., etc.............Cancer Sucks!
Reply:are you inside or outside? what equipment do you have? what processes are you qualified?
Reply:Squeeze the trigger & watch a spool of wire spin or stop & change sticks every 10", DUH !!!
Reply:Does kick plate require full weld seam? Can you run gas or will it be FCAW?Can you maneuver a wire feed where it's at?Does job pay by the hour? Reply:super glue and duct tape are cheapest with the highest duty cycle rating.I forgot how to change this.
Reply:Is this to be installed on a tower, mezzanine, catwalk etc.?How much weld is required?Might be faster dragging an electrode lead around(stick)than moving a wire feed machine.Miller a/c-d/c Thunderbolt XLMillermatic 180 Purox O/ASmith Littletorch O/AHobart Champion Elite
Reply:Do you have the time to finger f...I mean, play around with the wire feeder when it buggers up and likewise is it feasable to drag it around behind you? (ala, flat surface)
