Im sure this has been discussed here before. other than a fireman and welder I am on the USAR team for new mexico, a little back ground on that USAR is urban search and rescue. There are 27 teams in the nation its a branch of FEMA we respond to natural disasters such as earth quakes bombed buildings hurricanes ect... we specialize in collapse rescue and recovery. a couple years ago we purched the petrogen torch its Gasoline and oxygen, you have a oxy bottle and you have this sealed gas can with a little hand pump on it to build pressure that creates a mist of fuel. there are times we need to cut rebar steal beams and what have ya. When we got this thing I was against it I guess i am just partial to the oxy/act torchIt cuts like no ones business we were cutting 3" of steal with no problem but what i dont like is you get dripping of fuel when starting it up . we haven't used it much just in training a few times and I am mixed on it I like it but then again i don't. Any of you guys use one .Pros cons on itLook it up if you haven't seen one Petroge torch.Brian
Reply:Yep, been discussed many time, especially on the Hobart board at www.hobartwelders.com/mboard.  Some of the threads were even started by salesmen of those products.  I believe "Petrogen" and "OPetrol" were the two competing salesmen there, IIRC.Looks good for quick and dirty demo work.  Most of us will never need or want one.
