Just bought a 160 amp arc welder ,my generator power is 2.6kva,frequency 50hz,,having problems burning a 2.5 rod,is ma generator not producing enough power or is the plant faulty
Reply:Even if you have an inverter type machine, 2.6kva is awfully low.I've heard that people run 150 ampinverter welders on a 6 kw generators. My 225 amp arc welder(transformer type) draws about 45 amps,At 240 volts, that would be almost 11kva.Miller a/c-d/c Thunderbolt XLMillermatic 180 Purox O/ASmith Littletorch O/AHobart Champion Elite
Reply:find the input rating for your machine then figure the total watts needed volts X amps = wattsexample--- 240 v X 45a =10800 so say 11,000 wattsidealarc 250/250 ac-dc tigidealarc 250/250 ac-dc tig #2 used for sticklincoln sp100hh125dual arbor grinder polisher30 yrs of hand tools52 pitch blocks 6p-26prake gauge -pitch gaugeG&D prop repair 918-207-6938Hulbert,okla 74441 |
