Sold my horrible Awelco MIG 120 to a mate. He may not be my mate after this though.Anyhow, now I can go looking for the Fronius that I've been wanting.I know this is not a question but I'm so glad to be rid of the Awelco that I had to tell someone.
Reply:Post some pics and info when you get the Fronius. Im sure it will be a great machine to weld with. Anything fronius would be.I was kinda happy when i got my new machine. There is a short thread somewhere here about my Kemppi when i got it.
Reply:Congratulations man!! Take some pictures if you want, I think it'd be cool to see a foreign (to me) welder [Account Abandoned 8/8/16 Please Do Not Attempt Contact Or Expect A Reply]. See you on YouTube! -ChuckE2009

Reply:You know, i have seen that in a catalog but it didnt list what it could do. I just saw the Transmig on the side and assumed it was an inverter MIG.
Reply:Will definitely post pics once I get my hands on it. The thing is though; I need to stay a bit realistic. Fronius being the Rolls Royce of MIGs does not come cheap, the prices for new units are not just high, they are obscene. I will look for probably a couple of months and if I haven't found one by then, I will probably look for anyone of these three which are equally second choice for me.Kemppi KempoMat 2100http://svetsmaskinservice.e-butiken.se/?artnr=KMAT2100ESAB MigMaster 203http://products.esabna.com/index.php...tegory_id.3889REHM Synergichttp://www.rehm-online.de/index.php?...bkapitel=1&L=1I know there will be people who will say I should buy something made locally like WIA but I have no interest in where the box is made. To me, locally made does not equate to quality. Attached Images
Reply:Hi Llundberg,Whats your budget and do you have 415 available, is it for work or play, whats the sizes you want to weld?Fronius are great but I do feel a bit over priced.I have a Kemppi feed and liner to my 340 SAF , its been good to me .First welder I ever bought was a 210 Liquid Arc (Lincoln) still have to collecting dust , havent used it for 10 years but it never missed a beat .Most smaller Migs from decent Brands ie WIA CIG SAF Miller Lincoln are OK its the feed that makes all the difference, well to me it does as we only ever do Ally Mig .Look forward to seeing what you get...BrettA good guess is better than a bad measurement

Reply:Umm, WIA are not made in Australia anymore..
Reply:I had intended to buy something really good - if not a Fronius, ESAB, Kemppi or Rehm. What happened in the meantime was that I filled in some sort of form type 'fill in this form and win some stuff'. I never win anything normally so I didn't even pay attention to what the prize was.But this time I did win - A Lincoln 180 C, a trolley and a welding table. The dilemma now is; should I just keep it or sell it and buy what I really wanted in the first place. If I sold it, it would never sell for anywhere even close to what I would have to spend on the top quality machine I want but it would go some way towards it.Decisions, decisions... Reply:congrats on the win. nice prize..tackleexperts.comwww.necessityjigs.comhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/mach...dingequipment/
Reply:The Lincoln's a pretty nice machine, but definitely doesn't have the bells & whistles of the higher-end machines you're looking at. However, if Lincoln and Miller welders are commonly available there, you may want to look at some of their fancier machines. The Millermatic 350P and the Lincoln C300 are very nice pulse-MIG machines and will run on just about any voltage, single- or 3-phase.Congratz on winning the contest though- I've had to buy all my welders JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
Reply:Congrats on your new "import" Sorry I couldn't resist..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan

Reply:Thanks all, its nice to win something for a change. Lincoln and Miller is available, just like all the other brands mentioned but many people in Aus rate the european machines over anything else.Support isn't really an issue as its just as good/bad for any machine. Even red commie machines are supported.ALL welders are imports now since WIA are not made here anymore but that is totally irrelevant to me anyway.
Reply:Congrat's. I'd get some use out of that machine. Its better than what you had, good brand, 20amp short on what you were going to buy.I'd love a little MIG like that. Good portability. Now i have my monster MIG, i find that sometimes i would like to have a small machine for greater portability. If ya sellin............
Reply:omg , i really really really like that 180c 'diamond core' . It just seemed so funny calling it an import like we do others. Ive seen fronius and some body shops here even require them...but @ over 4k ....and seeing the way ZTFab and other members 'porno' welds with that little lincoln. idk thermal arc 252i - millermatic 350P - miller XMT, cp300ts, 30a 22a feeders, buttload of other millers, handfull of lincolns, couple of esabs - Hypertherm 1250 G3
Reply:I'm hearing you about portability. But pretty much any welder 160A and above needs a 15Amp outlet and they are not that common.4K for a Fronius...that would be an absolute bargain for any Fronius! I've seen a VarioSynergic 5000 for AU$17K.
Reply:Not that expensive to get a dedicated circuit put in for the welder.I had a 25amp service put in just to make sure.
Reply:I have a dedicated 15A outlet. But if portability is important, then I would rely on a 15A outlet wherever I go.
Reply:I have a 200mm long lead with a 10amp male end and a 15amp female end.Good for about 140amps without tripping the circuit.
Reply:I've heard of people doing that. I have also heard people say that doint that is almost as big a crime as murder. |
