I just picked this up for the Commander 500D. I got it from Stumpf for the great price of $100.00 + shipping. And John, from Stumpf, even found me a couple of screw on covers for the 14 pin receptacles on both the Commander and Shopmaster for only $5.00 ea. And a free sticker. I liked dealing with them, so I don't mind advertising, so I put it on the remote. Great first experience with them, so I will definately be a repeat customer.I took off the red back to see inside. Looked pretty simple. I'm surprised I don't read posts on here about guys making their own. Oh well, can't wait to try it out! I like the idea of not having to walk up to 100' back to make a change. Reply:On the SAM 400, the portable field control (remote) controls output on CC or CV.  It's been so long since Stick-Man's had my Commander 500 that I can't remember how its remote works, though.
