I remember seeing a post about a disc that cut scale off really well, It looked like a blue scotch brite crossed with a flap wheel. Does anyone know what this is and where to get it
Reply:I saw the same thing at the www.weldingtipsandtricks.com website.

Reply:Didn't check vids, but if you google flapper disc or tiger disc you should get what you are looking for.Semper FiJesus may have been a Carpenter, but his dad was a Millwright" A grinder and a can of paint, will make a welder what he aint' "I've done so much, with so little, for so long, that now I can do anything with nothing!
Reply:Mill scale can be a tough mother to remove, a hard grindstone is fastest if you don't mind the rough finish. Norton makes a Scotchbrite-like disc for angle grinders which works quite well but wears out quickly and is not cheap. For flap discs I actually like the ones Home Depot sells (also made by Norton). They seem to do better on mill scale than even the more expensive German brands, and at $5 and change it's hard to complain.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
Reply:If scale is so bad you cannot grind it easy? might want to try a air powered needle scaler, I have used them on trailers for rust and paint flake.
Reply:Lehigh Valley Abrasive has them. I can't say I've compared prices to everybody online, but I generally order abrasives from these guys, as they do beat all of the local guys. Click HEREWho is John Galt?
