Wilton Bullet vise

Reply:considering that a new Wilton, depending on the model, runs from around $500 up to around $1200, I'd jump on it

Reply:Doesn't matter, they are the top of the line vises in my opinion.I believe that is a 1st gen WiltonIf it clamps good and holds, it's worth it. Any cracks or weld repairs? If not I would still get it. If you don't, then don't. Reply:I plan on restoring this vise i will probably sand blast it or just wire brush it  But what is the best paint to use one a vise. I will probably have the jaws made at a local machine shop so i dont have to worry about them being wrong if i order them off the internet. Reply:Contact Wilton and you might be pleasantly surprised as they may still have replacements. I have three Wiltons, two from the '70s and a secondhand one I have no idea when was made but long ago. Replacement jaws are still available for them. If you are in an area where oil is produced I would check with one of the supply stores as they have always been available from that source for me.For what it's worth I consider Wilton's to be as good as any vice ever made.

Reply:What kind of paint will last the longest and be the best on the vise. I plan on just painting it gloss grey.
