Hello, I am currently welding up a ATV Tub Trailer out of 16 ga steel with my millermatic 211 and having a struggle from burning holes when i'm welding the light gauge steel. I've adjusted wire speed up and down and temp up and down just when i seem to have everyhting set i still burn a hole through my weld.Any feed back would be great on what to do with this light gauge steel to keep from burning holes through my welds.
Reply:with out specifics and pics try increasing travel speed. are you using solid or flux core wire?225NT bobcatAEAD200LEScott 125mm175, mm252 w 30A, PT225mm211, TA 181iHyper Therm 380, cut master 529100X & XX, Digital Elite6 Victor setssmith little torch, meco midget kalamazoo band sawsteel max saw evoulution circular saw
Reply:what size wire? another option is to clamp a larger piece of metal behild the weld to act as a heat sink. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger

Reply:Should be able to dial in the 211 on 16 Ga. just move faster, might want to try running down hill if it isn't to critical. will penetrate enough and give you a nice flat weld."Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum"Lincoln Idealarc 250 AC/DCMillermatic 251   Syncrowave 300   30A spoolgunLincoln MP210Hypertherm 45(2) LN 25(2) Lincoln Weldanpower 225 CV(4) SA200   1 short hood    SA250    SAM 400
Reply:I second the downhand option.  Keep ahead of the puddle and you'll be fine.  Alternatively, alternate a weave between both plates as opposed to focusing the heat on the center of the joint.
Reply:Thanks for everyone's Feedback!!!
