Playing with the tig

Today I was in the goof off mode and tigged some 1/2" x 1" to 3/8" plate.Zaps stich weave.  I almost got it!Real world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

Reply:Looking pretty good!! How many amps are you throwing at it for the 3/8-1/2" ??And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.

Reply:DavidRegarding that stitch weave pattern do you basically run the bead in a zig zag?  Maybe this little diagram shows better what I'm trying to say.  Thanks.
Reply:First you need a root pass.  The stitch goes over that.  You can see the first pass in the pic.  Its more like the second one you drew, but closer together.  Zap could show you better than I could.David Real world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
