Land lord runs into water meter, now blade hits deck Tried porta power but no go. Cut slits and hammered out. Also cut off worn out flange at botom. Migged w/70s6 3 1/8x1 straps over slits inside and out. Weld-bend-weld-bend some 3/16x1/2 to form new flange. Ground the welds and painted.Peter Attached Images

Reply:Deformed metal is the pits.  I think it can be even worse on a round shape.I think, and I'm not sure it's right, that the reason pressure vessels are round is because they do such a good job at resisting pressure from inside.  The very same reason your porta power didn't make a dent in the redo.Slotting was the answer"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:Nice redo on the guard.  Speaking of guards, sounds like someone needs a small, custom-welded fence around his water meter ... could be a job looking for the right person to take it on .....
