would this rod be o.k to tig 4130 chromo tube for a chassis. would it be to brittle?is there a better rod to choose? i have used the ers70-s2 but the tensilweld rod seems to be a little more fluid. thanks in advance.
Reply:Never heard of "tensleweld" rod.. Is it rod or filler?.. I Myself would just use 70S-2...But thats just me.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:it is made by washington alloy. the guy at the local welding shop told me it was the same as "missle rod" which is i guess a high nickel rod.
Reply:I use it quiet a bit but you should preheat, and stingers only if you are stick welding with it . as for tig hey why not it is tuff stuff, just make sure all the flux is off and very clean.
Reply:B2 wire (1 1/4 CR 1/2 Mo) is the choise for some people, but what you have will probably be OK and will save some $'s. John SMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases. There all here. :
Reply:If you want fluidity, go with 70s6 wire. Most people use the 70s2 because it is LESS fluid, and makes for a more controllable puddle when out of position. |
