I have a roller but its time consuming to get repetetive radius. So fabbed a form and hand bent some arches. Not exactly the same radius but plenty close for decorative stuff. When bending iron will spring back, have to make form for smaller radius to allow for spring. Each shape, wall thickness, and type of metal will spring differently. How fast or slow bend is made will effect spring. I was trying for 50 inch radius and ended up with 48, close enough for decorative stuff!Form was built to 38 inch radius. This is really fast. Insert tube and hand bend. Had to fab and use cheater to get last few inches done. Tube: 3/4 steel 14 gage square.PeterPSThis is a fence topper, to be installed on brick fence. 13.5ft long. Tomorrow I will fab #2 which is 24ft long.Peter Attached Images

Reply:Similar methods at this link. He's done some of the math on the spring-back. For low-production or hobby stuff, it seems like a worthwhile trick to learn. Outside of Harbor Freight, rolling benders are expensive.
