On this forum I see most of the rigs are on trucks and not many trailers. I am looking to build a trailer to work off of. I would love to see other trailers set up as a mobil work shop. I am looking for ideas to steal. And also pros and cons of a trailer. Thanks and look forward to some good pics. B.G.

Reply:If you look under "lets see the welding rigs" page 5, mine is posted there about half way down. Its a trailer 5X8 3500lb axle with a lincoln sa200. I need a tandem axle trailer because I'm a little over weight. Sorry I lost my pictures, thought I saved them but can't find them.

I added the tanks the summer before. The tanks are not in the best place, but there was noplace left to put them without refabricating the whole thing. I would reccomend putting the tanks inboard if you are starting from scratch. All built from scrap materials. I have had three different welders on it over the last ten years.

Reply:What size axles are you gents using for these???Come try it out and stay a while.
Reply:That trailer on youtube looks great but I have to wonder about real world practicality.I wonder about water and road dirt getting into drawers and compartments and scratches on that nice paintwork. To me Bobs looks a lot more practical with a big work area on the back and steel storage.Mine has a work area on the back with a vice and it gets used and burnt and scratched up all the time. Also, just getting bottles on and off scratches up paintwork just nicely.A pretty trailer looks nice but unless you're not using it much,to me it's a little impractical. My welder, compressor and bottles sit out in the open but my comp is turning to ****e so I'm going to build a steel canopy over the lot with doors that open upwards on gas struts to allow air flow. The work area will be left uncovered.I will take some photos when it stops raining.
