Don't know if this has already been posted here, but Lincoln has published a new GMAW guide.The only problem with this guide, if anyone bothers to read it, it will reduce the number of posts concerning MIG.http://content.lincolnelectric.com/p...ture/c4200.pdf

Reply:This book is a great reference.I originally took a "Sculptural Welding" class at the local comm college to learn about this as a hobby.  I have since become more interested in learning about the science and technology as well as the skills of welding.  I am now taking "Advanced MIG & TIG" classes to practice, practice, practice (especially tig aluminum--great admirer of Zapster's skill).  I really appreciate learning from all of you on this forum.

Reply:Wow...Thanks for the heads-up on these documents, all. I've only been on my job for a month, and I'm surrounded by some very experienced welders. I thought I knew how to weld---not a veteran, of course, but I could make it look decent---until I started my job at this place. And then I found this forum. Suffice it to say, I realize now that I'm pretty much ignorant when it comes to welding, even though I understand the basics of technique. But the information I've already gleaned from this forum, along with these handbooks, gives me hope that maybe I'll be able to improve my skills.Thanks for the tips and the links. I look forward to learning more from everyone on here....
