We had our first real day of welding lab class last night. I've welded for years as a hobbyist in my garage with a tombstone and finally lately a Stickmate LX AC/DC machine, but it's been very occasional usage only. I've welded since I was barely a teenager until now 15 years later, but only more than once or twice a year until about a year and a half ago when I decided to tear this car apart and rebuild it again. In that time I've made some slapper type traction bars and some subframe connectors, and otherwise it's been very occasional repair use with the stick welder. Finally I'm getting some formal training!Click on the pictures for the full size image!Anyway, stringer beads on ~3/16" plate:6010 (85A, DCEN)6011 (85A, AC)6013 (85A, AC)7018 (100A, DCEP)Next on the assignment list, changing direction mid-weld.6011 on the left (85A, AC), 6010 on the right (85A, DCEP) all on 1/4" plateHobart Stickmate LX AC/DC, Millermatic 252 & 30A spoolgun, Thermal Arc 185 TIG, Miller BWESmith Oxy-AcBridgeport 2J , South Bend 42" 9AHusky 7.5 HP 22.3 CFM 80 gal compressor
