can you plug weld .040 to .065 4130 with a 110 HARBOR FREIGHT arc welder or would the flux core welder do a better job thanks expressdog01
Reply:What are you plug welding?? I would suppose the stick welder could do the job, as 4130 holds itself together better than mild steel, but that is some thin stuff. The fluxcore welder might be better, especially if you use .030 wire.And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
