Hi guys: I need some serious advise on 3/16" copper sheet welding, as I`m working on a sculpture with a stainless armature with Cu Sheet welded on.Silicon bronze I understand would be the choice to weld copper-stainless.On copper-copper do I have to necessarily use silicon bronce too? As far as the welding process goes, it seems that MIG would be best for there`s lots of welding to do on this 30 ft high sculpture proyect. Cutting the sheet sections to make ends meet is also important so I don`t end up with a bunch of weld seams runing up and down, because overlap welding must be avoided as possible. The client has available 3/16 " copper sheet,so although is a thick material, I`m afraid we`ll have to stick with it!Wil a hand plasma cutter be good, or stick to disc cutting sheet? What Amp MIG welder will do for 3/16" copper sheet? Another one is:what is the expected bronze comsumption in lbs/ hr Mig welding 3/16" ?As you see, this tecnical stuff may be basic to you guys, but not me!THANK YOU MUCH for your advise. Baculus. |
