Reply:Like the vice idea.
Reply:Just curious, what camera do you use to take your pictures?
Reply:I think the camera was a Nikon D700?  forgot what lense was used.  I didn't take the pictures, I just moved the table into position while my brother took the pictures
Reply:Very nice
Reply:Good looking table. I have one simular, Thinking of adding a drawer to reduce some of the clutter. You know open the drawer, scrape everything off the top and shut it. LOLMiller 250ntMiller 225gMillermatic 252Miller 12vsMiller spectrum 375Lincoln weld pak 140And a lot of other stuff
Reply:NICE work good set up on vice.

Reply:That table is nice but it looks smaller than 4'x4' ?I.B.E.W Electrician and Damn Proud of It !!!! .Virtus Junxit Mors Non Separabit http://www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/
Reply:top is 4x4. the frame is 40"x40" (4 inches overhang).  its the biggest size my garage will allow since my wife doesnt want to park her car outside, nor will she ride a motorcycle instead of driving a car so I can have more garage space.  i just can't win.i think it looks smaller because its so high off the floor, the top of the table to the ground is 41.5"big a$$ would be nice to just scrape everything into.  but i know the drawer will end up so cluttered that i wont be able to close it hehe
Reply:I like the vice mount too!No paint for the frame??MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:Sweet table.     The vise mount is unique.  Was that to maximize table space?  The plate you've attached the vice to looks a bit wimpy though, especially next to the beefy square-tubing.   Is it your plan (with one tube inside the other) to add some holes and a bolt or two to the tubing to allow the vise to be raised up?Lincoln AC225 & MigPak 140, Lincoln Magnum SpoolGun, Miller Spectrum 375-X Plasma, Syncrowave 200 TIG, Millermatic 252 MIG, Miller Digital Elite, General 7x12" horiz/vert bandsaw, 3' box/pan brake, 20 ton press, milling machine, 12x28 lathe, etc.
Reply:I just noticed the plywood base... is that temporary?  I put a wooden floor on mine "just temporarily" and it's been there for over a year, catching sparks and other hot items.  You might want to keep an eye on that if your temporary is as permanent as mine!  Lincoln AC225 & MigPak 140, Lincoln Magnum SpoolGun, Miller Spectrum 375-X Plasma, Syncrowave 200 TIG, Millermatic 252 MIG, Miller Digital Elite, General 7x12" horiz/vert bandsaw, 3' box/pan brake, 20 ton press, milling machine, 12x28 lathe, etc.
Reply:A nice, clean table. Maybe you should think about a minor change to the vice mount:Cut the receiver tube at the yellow line and weld that little cut-off to the vice holder as a spacer. That way you keep the height of the vice, but without the vice there will be no vice mount lurking over the table plate.  Attached Images

Reply:Man that is one sweet looking table! The only thing I see that I would do to it, is round off the corners of the table, and that plate the vice sits on and the wheel plates (which look kinda sharp), I could totally see myself bumping into those when I was working.Im planning on making myself the same kinda thing but just maybe 2'x2' so it doesn't take up a whole lot of space.

Reply:Looks good John.Come by my shop this weekend. I have a whole 4'x5' sheet of 3/16" HRS that you can have. It's from that old table top that I had and it's been sitting outside for a bit but if you want it, come get it. It would good for practice, brackets, tabs, etc....http://all-a-cart.comWelding Cart Kits and accessories

Reply:Looks good and the vice mount is smart b/c you can position it four different ways. I need one just like it.
Reply:Not sure what process you used, but I assume you've discovered the joys of the square tubing butt jointTrying to fill the gap without burning back the thin edgeTrying not to lose the joint line while welding:cry (Your eyes are probably better than mine though)"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
