I made this dolly a while ago. I use it for loading broken down bikes. It use to take two people to load a bike, one had to hold the bike and one had to work the tilt bed. Now only one person is needed. There are company's that make these but they were way to expensive for me. So I made one from metal I had sitting around the garage. Let me know what you think. Reply:Now all it need is a hinge to fold up for easier keeping.    Nice unitVantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.
Reply:The dolly itself looks good, the wheels and how they are attached look like they could use a better design.
Reply:Neat design, whether yours or not. I agree the wheels are the weak link although you did say you made it from parts around the shop. As the parts improve, you can upgrade. Nice job.
Reply:Thanks for the replies. I did think about hinges to be able to store it easier after it was welded. Maybe I will do the hinges If I make another one. The wheels are cheap plastic, but I had them sitting around. There mounted on some threaded rod that is welded to the inside of the box tubing. I agree it's not the best way to mount them but it's the easiest way I could think of at the time.  Please let me know how you would of mounted the wheels? Many minds are better then one. Maybe if I build another one I can make it better. Here is a link of what I saw on the net and what inspired me to make mine. Condor Motorcycle Dolly. Check out the price of it. Since I only use mine a few times a year, I didn't go all out. I just wanted something that works and something that will last. Please keep the comments coming, I'm always open to opinions good or bad. I posted some picture of my bike sitting on it when I first built it.Thank you. Attached Images
Reply:I see you have an old '70's ironhead, now I understand why you're so concerned with loading broken bikes  I know how you feel, I have a '76 currently in pieces on my garage floor. Good job!Sure, I can fix it... I got a welder!!!
Reply:You hit the nail on the head. It's a 73. I bought the bike as a project, and it turned into a never ending project. I can now fix it with my eyes closed anymore. I've had to do it so much. lol Good luck with your bike. If you need anything for your bike let me know maybe I can help.
